Six signs of spring and nations

Wow! what a difference a week makes!!

This was the garden last Saturday and this Saturday, a mere seven days later
spring is sneaking in.  In fact there are six signs of spring...

Snowdrops seem to be popping up at every opportunity ...

 

 

The quince is beginning to bud...


I wish I'd planted the witch hazel closer to the house so we could see it better - its overflowing with  little yellow flowers...

 

There are crocus peaking up through the grass...


Daffodils are poking their noses through


And the bluebells aren't far behind them...


And the winter flowering honey suckle I bought especially for the bees has climbed up and through the fence perfectly...


The morning's sunshine is a bit misleading though.  The temperature has barely crept above 4'C so its back inside for me.... the promise of the first afternoon of this years six nations rugby and drawing quilting patterns is calling...
